England stars Andy Carroll and Steven Gerrard were some of the
players chosen to model the new Liverpool third kit that was unleashed
today ahead of the 2012/13 season.
Also in shot were Team GB
forward Craig Bellamy, and Luis Suarez who will also compete at the
Olympics for the Uruguayan national team. Both were selected as overage
players for their respective teams.
Although to the untrained eye
the third kit might seem to be a startling similar colours cheme to the
away one, according to new kit manufacturers Warrior Sports:
"The
new third kit delivers a bold design statement to the football world
with a striking graphic print set over a daring colour palette of
nightshade, orange and white. The new kit will be worn by Liverpool FC
during their upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign and selected Barclays
Premier League games."
The Reds signed a record-breaking kit deal
with the US firm and this is the third of their new looks for the season
to be announced, in the wake of the more traditional all-red home number
and the slightly nautical away kit
.
