Anichebe nets season’s first for Everton

Nigeria forward, Victor Anichebe scored his first goal for Everton in the 2012/13 season as the Toffees drew 2-2 with Newcastle United in the English Premier League on Monday.
The 24-year-old was making his first appearance of the season as manager David Moyes opted to throw the Nigerian into the fray for Croatian, Nikita Jelavic in the 44th minute.
Anichebe repaid his manager’s faith as he scored a brilliant goal on 88 minutes after receiving an excellent pass from South African midfielder, Stephen Pienaar.
The powerful forward has had a difficult time with injuries as he managed just five starts for Everton in the 2011/12 season.
He, however, scored five goals for the club and will be looking to stay healthy this term.
